Gandharv Ashram

Established in 1986, the Gandharva Ashram was opened with a view of serving the Society in a different manner. It was opened with a eye of a open and healthy society. Yoga, Meditation, Aroma Therapy and Naturopathy are the main functional areas of Gandharv Ashram. The whole idea behind the Gandharv Ashram is to make people healthy through natural processes and meditation.

Situated among the lush greenery, this Ashram is a cool respite from the harsh City conditions.

Bhagvat Geeta - the Holy Hindu Scripture is preached here. The thoughts and ideologies are taught here to attain relief from worldly affairs.

The Ashram

Treating the Natural Way , is the Concept which one follows . Practices like Yoga , Meditation, Aroma Therapy are used to give treatment to the people suffering from various ailments. In addition to it, Meditation is preached and practiced.
Apart from Meditation, there are other things too. Art and Architecture, Buddhist Ethics, Astrology, Ayurveda, Spirituality are taught here. As a member one can make a blog of his own, write a book, get a free horoscope and preach too!

An ideal day in Ashram :

Early Morning Walk or Brisk Walk
Yoga and Breakfast
Doing Studies as per Interest/Going through Treatment
Doing Designated Work in the Evening

The Concept/Ideology

Gandharv - As per the Indian Vedas (Holy Scriptures), the Heavenly Gandharva is supposed to be a Deity who knows the secrets of Heaven and the Divine Truths. As per the Holy Scripts there were about 6333 Gandharvas who were the offspring of the Saint Kasyapa and Arishta. Thus came the idea of Gandharv Ashram. Using the old age Techniques of Meditation, treatment of various ailments are given.

Astrology : The art of learning the changing pattern of the Solar System and their affect on our lives.
Naturopathy : Learning Natural Therapies to treat various ailments.
Aroma Therapy : Using various aromas of fruits and flowers to treat diseases.
Meditation : Controlling and purifying the mind and body.

The Concept of Bhagwat Gita

The Concept of Bhagwat Geeta is much Emphasized in Gandharv Ashram. The teachings of Bhagwat Geeta are preached here. All the teachings are directed towards formulating a Vision, building teams, cultivating the art of leadership and self realization.

Our Suggestions

It is good to speak here, but silence has to be maintained - this is the rule followed by the Gandharv Ashram.
Nicely dressed people, with full body covered are welcomed here. Light colors are the best.
For the Members to be there are two option. If you stay in the same city, then you can come here and do your part in pre scheduled scale. Or you can join as full time member and stay in the Ashram for a couple of months. The duration of the stay is decided by the Ashram Management.
Be clear in asking your role in the Ashram. Ask them if you can leave the Ashram after joining, if you wish so.
Some Ashrams do not entertain married couples to join; others have no objection to it. Make it clear at the entry point itself.
Ask if you will be free to meet you family members or vice - versa, as per your wish. If not so, then what is the duration when you can meet them.
Most of the Ashrams serve Vegetarian Food - be sure you want to become a Vegetarian.
Some Ashrams have membership fee, some don't. Be Clear about the Membership Fee at the first place.
