Umaid Palace Hotel- The Royal Grandeur: The Umaid Bhawan was opened as the finest luxury hotel in India. Presently it has 95 regal rooms and suites with all the comforts befitting the royals. All the rooms have been elegantly furnished with antique furniture that exhibit the aristrocatic touch. It has its own theatre, eight dining rooms, banquet hall and a Ball room. There is an excellent museum inside the palace which displays weapons, antique-clocks, crockery and hunting trophies belonging to the Maharaja. The hotel also comprises of its own post office, library, auditorium, underground swimming pool, tennis courts, marble-floored squash courts, a billiards room and gardens which can accommodate 6000 people. Residents can amble through the Throne Room and garages stabling vintage cars. The Hotel's kitchens are known for their Marwari and Rajasthani food. The palace is reputed to be amongst the finest palace hotels in the world. Weather: Jodhpur receives 359.5 mm of rain every year, most of it during the monsoon (July/August). Summer-Maximum temperature in Jodhpur during the summers remains in the range of 40ºC Winters- In the winters the minimum average temperature is 11ºC.
