The Caves
As compared to Ellora Caves who were also one of the Buddhists
Monastries, these are the simple ones which dosen.t have those
ornamental carvings. These caves are supposed to be built in the late
7th century. At the entrance of the caves bells made of brass are
hanging with strings. There nearby a light lamp lits day and night with
a smaller one made of brass is kept just a few steps away .
There are eight huge parts of the main cave divided by pillars. It
seems as if the pillars are holding the entire cave. Inside, the main
cave has the Lingam Of Lord Shiva (Statue of the God of Destruction).
Though not in a very good condition prayers are held here by the Hindu
Priests. Inside the temple there is a water tank, which though not used
today, speaks of the past usage by the then monks/priests.
