A little far away from Hyderabad(280kms), and 06 kms from Vijaywada, and
around 280 kms from Hyderabad these rock cut caves can be reached by road
from
Hyderabad
. These rocks lying near the river Krishna represent the rock cut
architecture of Buddhists. The main attraction of these four storied caves
is the 5m long reclining statue of Lord Vishnu aculpted from a single rock
of Granite. One can easily reach these caves by road.
Flashback
The caves these rock cut caves date back to 4th and 5th century AD. These
are supposed to be made by Vishnukundina Kings of 420 to 620AD dedicated to
Anantapadmanabha Swamy and Narisimha Swamy.

The Caves
These rock cut caves are the simple yet tough adobes of the revered
Swamis who used to live here. This four storied structure has a Lord
Vishnu statue made out of a single granite rock. It has shrines
dedicated to Brahma and Shiva.
Surrounded by gardens these caves are in the same line as the
Bhuddhist Monastries in their architecture. It also has a 5m long
reclining statue of Bhuddha. From the hills above one can see the
Krishna river flowing by.

carvings, brass and metal work and silver filigree. Carry as much as you
can.

- The city Undavilli also has a number of sites
