about her. If you live in Madhya Pradesh then it is impossible you don't
know about her but if you have visited Madhya Pradesh before and still
haven't before then there is nothing bad than this.
Welcome yourself to a land whose airs are filled with the stories of Rani
Roopmati. Go a little bit inside this place of Madhya Pradesh called Mandu
and there you will find the reign of this Rani (Queen), still ready to take
over the world. High in the sky and deep in the waters, everywhere there is
Rani Roopmati.
The love story of Poet Prince Baaz Bahadur and Rani Roopmati still echo
here. The Palaces and the Havelis where this love story took place, still
tell the things of the past. Once you are here you can hear the stories of
the Rani Roopmati, the Burz – place from where she used to see the Bazz
Bahadur s Palace and the ruins of the Baaz Bahadur Palace.
Rani Roopmati, a Hindu singer in the reign of Malwa, fell in love with the
Sultan of Mandu – Baaz Bahadur. Their marriage solemnized as per the
Hindu and Muslim rites. However Adam Khan who got enchanted with Rani
Roopmatis Beauty, attacked Mandu and defeated Baaz Bahadur. Rani Roopmati,
on hearing this poisoned hereself. This actual story has marked itself in
the pages of history and is repeated every time one comes to see the Palace
of Mandu. Though not in a very good condition, still the Palace of Rani
Roopmati is visited by thousands of travelers from all over the world.
Apart from Rani Roopmatis Mahal, there are also some other very famous
destinations in Mandu like the Jami Masjid, Hoshang Shahs tomb, Asharfi
Mahal and Hindola Mahal. Out of all the places , two are very famous –
the Hinola Mahal or the Swinging Palace and the Jahaz Mahal or the Ship
Palace. The beauty of the Jahaz Mahal lies in the fact that from a distance
it looks like as if a Ship is standing at the shores of the sea. The design
and the architecture is one thing to see here. In the rainy season it looks
like as if the ship is sailing in the midst of the sea. Unique in its own!
Very near to Indore and Bhopal, Mandu can be easily reached by Road.
Madhya Pradesh has some other World Famous attractions too like the
