Vazhachal Falls are located in Thrissur District of Kerala. Running on Chalakkudy River, these are just 3 kms from Athirappilly. Vazchachal Falls are the most beautiful falls in India. With Huge trees and forest on one side of the falls, the beauty of the Vazachal Falls increases ten fold.

Preached over Sholayar Forest range on the fringes of Keralas Forest these provide a escape from the city lights. You can hear of the falling waters from a distance as you reach the Kerala Forest. Statrting calmly from the high ranges, these catch speed as they gust through the rocks of the Green Forest. And then with a thud, they fall down thousands of feets down making a roaring sound. The beauty of the Vazhachal Falls can be only felt when one reaches the Falls.

Near the Falls, there is the Forest called the Vazhachal Forest. Vazhachal as a place is a natures landscape. The nearness of the Falls to this beauty, makes them look more majestic and attractive. Near the Falls there is a small Garden with thousands of flowers adding to the beauty of the falls. Its also a place for various film shootings which keep on going here, especially in the rainy season. (There are two Water Theme Parks near the falls).

Athirappilly : These waterfalls are just 3 kms from Vazhachal Falls. Flowing high in the monsoon season, the Athriappilly Falls are one of the major attractions around. The lush green surroundings add to the beauty of the falls whose falling voice can be heard kilometers away in the rainy season of July to August.

Anakkayam : Also known as Elephant Pit, this dense Forest is untouched by Human Endevours. It attracts people who love adventure and want to see the wildlife in real terms. Children are not allowed to go inside the Forest. Only guided Tour is allowed in these Forests.

Water Theme Parks : For those with Kids along, there are two small but full fledged water theme parks around the Falls. One can go their and even stay in the Cottages of the Water Park. But prior booking is required here.

Malakapara Tea Gardens : If you are looking for a family Jeep Safari ( kids above 14 years), then this is the place to go for. The Safari takes you through the green forest and high ranges of Western ghats along the curved routes to reach the mainstream Tea Gardens of Malakapara. Its a perfect place to spend 4-5 days enjoying the surrounding attractions.

Vazhachal Falls can be reached by Bus or your own vehicle. Only 90 kms from Cochin, these are easily reachable.

There are direct flights to Cochin/ Kochi from all the major cities of India. Trains too are there to take you to Cochin. Take the Cochin Thrisur Highway from Chalakudy Railway Station to reach Vazhachal Falls.

Vazahachal Falls are very near to Athirapally Falls (just 3kms). If you are going to see Vazahachal Falls then you can also go to see Athirapally Falls as they come in the route.
