The Festival
Medieval European Culture is followed known as the manifestation of
Christ. The services are held in the middle of the night in the
churches, carols are sung and presents are distributed to mark the birth
of Jesus Christ. The entire scenario of the Birth of Christ is recalled
in the form of drama. It is celebrated by both sects of Christians -
CATHOLICS AND PROTESTANTS. The day of Christmas is preceded by Christmas
Eve and in some countries it is followed by
Boxing Day.
(BOXING DAY - Also known as St. Stephen Day it is the day when presents
are distributed to the employees to the employers or donations are made
to the Churches. Some countries also mark it as a OFF DAY for its
employees. Boxing Day is basically observed by the Commonwealth
Countries throughout the world).
There is a feast which includes the cake which is distributed to all.
Then there is wine and Champagne, meat, dance and music, various games
and competition to celebrate the festival. Usually on this day people
buy new clothes and wear light jewelery.
Major parts of the city is decorated with lights, music is played and
dance adds to the fever of the festival. All around the city one can see
the Santa Claus moving around distributing presents and dancing with the
children. Makes of Santa as big as 9ft Santa are also there. For all the
good reasons certain traditions are followed like the arrival of Santa
Claus and gifting of Presents. People party till late night, they eat,
dance, play and be merry in the night of Jesus. Be a part of it and
