The Garden
Famous for the dancing and illuminated fountains, the Brindavan Garden
is made in the vicinity of Krishnaraja Sagar Dam. The Garden has been
constructed in three terraces, which ends in a horseshoe shape. A number
of Ornamental plants like roses, bougainvilleas, orchids have been
planted all throughout the garden. As the darkness falls, the whole of
the garden is illuminated with lighted running water and fountain which
change colors. The same lights illuminate each and every place of the
garden with the flowerbeds shining with all the colors in the rainbow.
The garden has been divided into four parts -
» Main Gate : Its the huge entrance of the Garden, from
which gallons of water flowing inside the garden can be seen. A slight
view of the inside attractions of the Garden can be seen from here.
» South Brindavan : It is the area near the Cauvery Statue.
In front of the Cauvey Statue there is an area called the Kaveramma
Circle, containing big water fountains. On the slopes of these terraces,
a number of Ornamental plants like Bougainvillea and Cacti are grown.
This part of Brindavan Garden has a special attraction in the evenings
as the whole of the part is illuminated with colorful lights. With the
colorful and musical fountains and illuminated flower bed, it becomes a
major attraction in the morning and eye catcher in the evening.
» North Brindavan : It has four terraces filled with
various Ornamental Plants. Shrubs of Bougainvillea, Allamanda, Bignonia
magnifica, Homskloidia sanguina are found on the slopes of the terraces.
There is also a nursery where these Ornamental Plants are grown and
maintained. Those who like plants and would like to take some variety
can do so.
» Childrens Park : Just beside the South Brindavan there is
the Children Park. In this part, there is not only the various rides for
Children but also Food Courts which serve South Indian and Chinese
Delicacies. Apart from this there a'int much variety available.

» Government Fruit Orchard : Sprawling over an area of 75
acres, it has the plantations of Mango, Guava, Sapota, Litchi,
Roseapple, Bilimbi, Aonla, Avacado, Malayan apple, Arecanut, Coconut.
» Musical Dancing Fountain : The water effects move or
dance with music and interpret each tune in synchronization with light
and sound.
» Biological Research Departments : There are Biological
Research Departments here. Once can see and go through the various
processes which are carried out on the Ornamental Plants to care and
develop them with the changing enviornment.
» Krishna Raja Sagara Dam : The Dam built across the river
Cauvery is the lifeline of Mysore and Mandya districts. Built in the
year 1942, its a wonder to see and admire.
