Kasauli at its best
- Monkey Point : Its the highest point in
Kasauli. It gives a clear view of the city Chandigardh(Punjab) and
the river Satluj flowing by. It has the shape of a foot. As the
mythology goes this point was touched by Lord Hanumana on his return
to the seashore while bringing the Sanjeevani Booti to treat the
Prince Laxman(Younger Brother of Lord Rama).
- Chur Chandini Peak : Yet another among
the clouds place, feel and touch the clouds moving above your head
and around your hands in this peak lying in the north east region of
Kasauli.
Where and Why
If you are thinking of place devoid of actions and reactions, this is
the place to head for. Its a land of beauty, you will find the Koel
cooing here with the first sunlight. Sound of water running past by as
you wake up and the cool air passing by you as you take a walk.
Head for the Dhauladhar range as the first place in the morning. Its
one of the best known places in Kasauli. Do some trekking if you wish to
or simply take a walk on foot or cover the distance on a pony; the
choice is yours. Have your breakfast here among the ranges, take
photographs or just lie down. There is a lot of space to idle out. If
you want to Trek out more than go to the Chur Chandni Peak; its another
place to trek on.
Its a place of mountains and mountain hills; so you have another
interesting place- the monkey point. Shaped in the form of foot, it can
be another adventure for you. Standing on the hill top, watch the beauty
of the hills and the ravine flowing by. Its a greener place in the
monsoon and winter season. Sitting here having a cup of tea at this hill
point will provide a freshness to your mind. For the lunch however you
will have to come back to the town. Although you wont find much of a
delicacies here, but still basic Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian
food is easily available.
If you want to have more peaceful and cut off place, than Dagshai is
the place to visit.It will also be an extension to your tour as its
about 19kms from Kasauli and will take some time to reach. Its mostly
known as the picnic spot for the local people, you can still enjoy the
beauty of the hills among the orchids. Its a comparatively small town
and so is the peace around here.
