Flashback :
The lonely lands of Tezu have its ancient inhabitants as Mishmi Tribes. It
still has the King and Queen of the Mishmi
Tribe
residing here. They have a rich tradition (still followed) dating back to
the time of Mahabharata. From the beginning of the Arunachal Pradesh, Tezu
has been an integrated part of it.
Its both a pilgrimage and a place for those who love the adventours of
life. Known for the Parshuram Kund where devotees from all over India come
to offer prayers while taking a holy dip in the kund to wash away their sins
during the festival of Makar Sankranti in the month of Januaryevery year. If
you are on a pilgrimage tour don't forget to take this one.

Religion.

Where and Why
Another aloof place as they call it; where the wilderness lurks one
moves in the beauty of the nature. The nearest station is Diburgarh from
where you can take the road to Tezu via Tinsukia. A zig zag road, NH37
which leads its way to Dhaka via Tezu. You will see the Mishimi Hills on
your way to Tezu, the sceneric beauty following you all the way to Tezu.
Begin your journey from Mishimi Hills. Standing there admist the wild
you will see the hills covered with lush vegetation, tropical
evergeenery and the pine forests. Capture this view in your memories or
in your camera. This place is not much habitated and there arent much of
a facilities. Moreover it pours here without a warning! The Mishimi
people live a life of the past, cultivating Jhum, opium poppy and devote
their time looking after Mithun (Wild Cow). They dote on the beast but
also sacrifice them for puja (prayer).
Not far from here is the Lohit District. Populated by Tai Khampi
people, this place is filled with Burman and Thailand culture. Gilded
Stupas and monasteries dot the Khampi sentiments. There were a few
little who could speak English (take a Guide along with you). Enjoy your
journey as you move past the lush greenery.
