Viceregal Lodge - One of the best forms of British Colonial Architecture, the Viceregal Lodge is the most beautiful building you can see in Shimla. This lodge built on the Observatory Hill was formally the residential house of Viceroy Lord Dufferin.

Our Suggestions

• Get your reservations of the air/train and Hotels two months in advance if you going to Shimla anywhere between September to April end. The chances are these will be over-booked.
• For purchasing, do not buy on the first day itself unless and until you are in Shimla for a day or two.
• While Purchasing anything give considerable time to Bargaining. Its the biggest shopping tip you will ever get ( In India) !
• If you are planning to visit Shimla in the winters, then be sure to keep a lot of warm woolens with you.
• Shimla is best in the months of September to April end. However, in the months of November to January end its snow clad.
• There aren't many Money Converters to changers in Shimla. Only two are operative - Punjab National Bank and State Bank Of India and that too with different timings which are subject to change. So as far as possible keep Indian Currency in hand or in Bank.
• Make a choice of your own as far as food is considered. Mostly the food is good in most of the restaurants; still having food in your hotel is the best as the prices are reasonable there.
