Stock Palace Museum

The beauty of Ladakh surpasses the beauty of any other hilly place. Its rendezvous. The blue sky running up the cliffs of the castle, suddenly turning into a mix of black and grey, the herd of wild buffalow and yak running down the green grassland, the monks moving in a line in dark golden yellow color and the hills clad with snow. Shrey
Its the place where the Old Palaces of the past Kings lie. Though not in use, as they don't have any inhabitants anymore, these are good memoirs of the past. It is also a monastery - one of the oldest Shrey was once the Capital of Ladakh.

Khardong La pass
These are the HIGHEST MOTORABLE ROADS IN THE WORLD. A drive through these is a must watching the beautiful mountains on side and the natural beauty on the other side.

»Tankaras : These are the water tanks/ reservoirs which were used only for drinking water purposes. Watch out the carvings on these age old tankaras.

»The Crown : : The Royal Crown has been place here for the people to see. After the King passed away, since then it has been kept here. The widow of the King still resides in the Palace along with her sons.

»Coins : The old coins, of Gold and silver with the imprints of the past have been kept here for the future generation to see.

»Jewels and Jewellery : The Royal Jewels and Jewellery are kept here for demonstration. They are a beauty to see. One gets naturally attracted to them, no wonder if you too follow the heard!

»Royal Dresses : The impact of these royal dresses will always be with you, wherever you go. An enchanting mix of gold and red will leave you spell bound - ready to visualize yourself in one of them!

Pre check the visiting hours of the Stock Palace Museum as they are subject to change.
Its a hilly area and can have very low temperatures below 0 Deg C. People who are winter senstive and kids should avoid this place in the months of December to January.
Do take a four to five days tour around the city of Ladakh. Its a beautiful city, vast with many beautiful places to see. Dont miss it out as you fall in love the place around.
