Day 6,7 & 8:Jaisalmer: (3
Nights)
The
places of interest are as follows:- Jaisalmer Fort : Also known as Sonar Qila, this beautiful architectural wonder dominates the entire town. It is located on Trikuta Hill', 76 m above the town. The fort can be approached from four gateways: Akhaiyal, Ganesh Pol, Suraj Pol and Hava Pol. Inside the fort there are narrow lanes and some lovely Havelis. Gadi Sagar Jaisalmer : This site attracts lot of migratory birds and boasts of many shrines. It is a must visit for every tourist that travels to Jaisalmer. Havelis Jaisalmer : The sandstone city of Jaisalmer is famous for some of the stunning mansions or havelis that are intricately latticed. Travel to Patwon-ki-Haveli, a five-storied haveli is one of the most famous havelis that has carved pillars, extensive corridors and chambers. Khuri Dunes Jaisalmer : Situated 42 kms from Jaisalmer, the Khury Dunes are a massive stretch of sand that are often visited for camel rides by the tourists. A camel ride is a unique experience that you should not miss when you travel to Jaisalmer. Desert National
Park : Visit this national park in Jaisalmer, which is home to
antelopes, desert fox, desert cats and a variety of birds like
sandgrouse, partridges and bustards.
Day 9 & 10: Jodhpur (2 Nights) Mehrangarh Fort : Built by Maharaja Man Singh, it is a fine example of the military might of Rajputs. Perched on an imposing hill, Mehrangarh fort is spread over 5 kms. Within Mehrangarh Fort there are beautiful palaces, carved balconies and a musuem of weaponry, clothing and artifacts of the Rathore rulers of Jodhpur. Umaid Bhawan : This architectural wonder is made of sandstone. Originally built as an employment generation project during a year when the state suffered a severe drought, the Umaid Bhawan Palace is a grand heritage hotel. Its beautiful architecture, heritage ambience and royal grandeur are a sight to be seen. Today, it has been converted into a museum and a luxury hotel. Jaswant Thada : This white marble structure is the cenotaph of the rulers of Jodhpur. It contains memorials of previous kings and nobles of the Rathore clan. It was built in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant II. Many tourists flock to his shrine to pay their homage. The Mahamandir Temple : Built in 1812, this striking temple displays some excellent examples of stone carving. The golden sandstone is carved in intricate designs and floral patterns and are a reminder of the beautiful craftsmanship of the artisans of Rajasthan. Giridkot and Sardar Market : These are famous markets of the city where you can shop to your hearts content. Jodhpur is famous for handicraft items ranging from furniture to camel leather bags, shoes and belts. Tie and dyed fabric, traditional rajasthani clothes decorated with mirrorwork and embroidery and Rajasthani turbans and puppets are some popular souvenirs which you can pick up when you travel to Jodhpur Rajasthan. Day 11 : Bhenswara (1 Night) Which translated as the place where buffaloes were kept, is located about 130 km south of Jodhpurf the very beautiful village and heritage hotel by Maharaja of Bhaswada . very nice to visit meet with village people. How they living life . Day 12 & 13: Mount Abu (2 Nights) Mount Abu is a hot destination in an itinerary in any travel to Rajasthan. It attracts visitors for its scenic beauty and it is also an established pilgrimage center. Dilwara
Temples : Dilwara group of temples is one of the finest specimens of
Jaina architecture in India. Noted for their sheer aesthetic splendor,
they were built by the famous Solanki Dynasty of Gujarat and attract
thousand of devotees throughout the year. The oldest of the group is
Vimala Vasahi, built in 1031 A.D. and dedicated to Adinath, the first
Jaina Tirthankara (ford makers). It is named after the minister of the
Solanki Dynasty, who funded its construction. Another important shrine
is Neminath temple was built in 1231 A.D. and is more detailed. Nakki Lake : Situated in the heart of Mount Abu town, the beautiful Nakki Lake is steeped in legends. Tradition has it that the lake was formed by the gods who dug the lakebed using their fingernails (nakh). As a result it was named so. It is difficult to convey the scale and grandeur of Nakki Lake through words alone. You really need to go there. Set in the picturesquely surroundings and surrounded by the hills on all sides, the lake has several islets which you can reach on hired boats. Adding to the beauty of the lake are the rock formations around it. These rock formations at Nakki Lake have been appropriately named Nun Rock, Toad Rock, Camel Rock and Nandi Rock due to their resemblance to these figures. Climbers flock to this lake to climb these impressive rock formations through the wooded forests. Mount Abu is known for its fine climate and serene atmosphere. The views of the surrounding landscape from the heights of Mt Abu are also breathtaking. The extremely beautiful Ranakpur Complex has a nice ambience to it. Nice to see how there people are growing agriculture. It is tucked away in a remote and quiet valley of the Aravalli Range. Day 15 : Kumbhalgarh (1 Night) It is a most important fort in the Mewar region after Chittorgarh . It was here that the rulers of Mewar retreated in times of danger . its on an isolated and fascinating place . Built by Maharana Kumbha in the 15th century. Day 16, 17&18: Udaipur (3 Nights) City
Palace Udaipur : The gigantic City Palace in Udaipur in Rajasthan
includes the courtyards, terraces, corridors, pavilions, rooms and
hanging gardens. A tourist's must see destination in Udaipur while your
Rajasthan travel tour.Lake Pichola Udaipur : The picturesque lake inspired Maharaja Udai Singh to build Udaipur. Encompassed by hills, temples, bathing ghats, palaces and embankments; Lake Pichola is the major travel attraction in Udaipur. The two noteworthy structures on the Lake Pichola include the two island palaces, Jag Mandir and Jag Niwas (Lake Palace). Saheliyon-ki-Bari Udaipur : (Garden of the maids of honour) A small garden made for the royal ladies contains numerous fountains including four delightful pools, chiseled kiosks and marble elephants. Day 19 & 20: Chittorhgarh (2 Nights) Chittorgarh Fort : The Chittorgarh Fort is a massive structure perched on a hill spread over an area of 280-hectares. Among the monuments housed within the fort are Rana Kumbha's Palace, Fateh Prakash Palace, Tower of Victory and Rani Padmini's Palace. Tower of Victory(Vijay Stambh) : Vijay Stambh - this 9-storyed 'tower of Victory' was built by Maharana Kumbha in 1440.AD to commemorate his victory over Mohammed Khilji of Malwa. You can have a beautiful top angle view of the whole town. The tower gets illuminated in the evening, which cast a spell. A piece de resistance, the tower is a must see on any itinerary in a travel to Rajasthan. Kirti Stambh : Adherents of Jainism travel to Rajasthan in large numbers as the state is noted for being home to some of the finest Jain structures. One of them is the Kirti Stambh, which you can see when you travel to Chittorgarh. Dedicated to Adinath, the 1st Jaina Tirthankar, the Kirti Stambh was built in the 12th century A.D by a wealthy Jain merchant. The tower is adorned by carved images of the Digambar saints. Rana Kumbha Palace : This 15th century Palace of Rana Kumbha is a classic specimen of Rajput architecture. It was built by Rana Kumbha during whose reign Mewar prospered and scaled new heights. Kumbha Shyam Temple : Built during the reign of Rana Kumbha, the temple is a fine example in the Indo-Aryan style. The shrine is famous for housing an image of Varaha, the boar incarnation of Vishnu. Kalika Mata Temple : Dedicated to the mother Goddess Kali, the temple has beautiful carvings. The carvings include the famous scenes of the churning of the ocean by the gods and demons. There is an image of Surya guarding the main entrance to the temple. Meerabai Temple : Built in north Indian style with a delicate curved tower the temple is dedicated to Meerabai, the famous Jodhpur princess and mystic poetess. Gaumukh Kund : The Gaumukh Kund is a deep tank and considered to be a holy place. Located in the tranquil surroundings, this spot offers spectacular views across the plains. Padmini's Palace : Padmini's Palace is built beside the lotus pool with a historical pavilion that changed the course of history of Chittor. Ala-ud Ala-ud-din Khilji's obsession with her beauty led to the bloody battle in 1303 A.D. Padmini committed jauhar, immolating herself in a pyre to avoid capture by the invader. Day 21 : Bundi (1 Night) The place is reached from the northwestern end of the bazaar . through a huge wooden gateway and up a steep cobbled ramp. Only one part of the outer perimeter of the palace . known as the chittra shala .Officially open for a public . Day 22 & 23: Pushkar (2 Nights) Pushkar Lake : The Lake is surrounded on all four sides by desert and hills. The Nag Pahar (Snake Mountain) separates the Pushkar Lake from Ajmer. The legend associated with the Pushkar Lake is that Kalidas wrote the Abhigyan Shakuntalam in the picturesque location of this lake. The Panchkund and a cave located near the lake are not to be missed by you during your Pushkar travel. Pushkar Fair : The Pushar Fair is the largest camel fair in India held annually in October/November. The most important day is on the full moon of Kartik when pilgrims take a holy dip in the Pushkar Lake. Apart from a large sale of cattle, leatherware, clothes and household items; the most exclusive events of the fair are camel-cart races and cultural events. Man Mahal : The former residence of Raja Man Singh, Man Mahal, on the banks of the Pushkar Lake is now converted to RTDC Sarover Tourist Bungalow. Also a must visit is the heritage hotel Pushkar palace (Kishangarh House) that adjoins the Man Mahal. Pushkar is known for its serene atmosphere for most of the year. Situated near the entrance gate of City Palace in Jaipur; it is an architectural and scientific marvel of India as well as the world. Hawa Mahal : A creation shaped in 1799 A.D.; the Hawa Mahal or Palace of Winds is a five storey building hued in pink with semi octagonal and delicately honey combed sandstone windows. Meant for the queens and the palace maids; it used to permit them to watch the royal processions passing through the roads without being noticed by anybody. Amber Fort : Perched high on a hillock near the Pink City of India, Amber Fort is a fort-palace in Rajasthan that captivates the attention of the tourists. The Amber Fort is a fantastic blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture in India. Dating back to the 16th century, it was built by Raja Man Singh. The most distinguishing feature of this fort is the adventurous Elephant ride/safari, up to the main gate of the fort which makes your tour quite memorable. Day 26 & 27: Ranathambor (2 Nights) Ranthambore National Park Sawai Madhopur : Travel to Sawai Madhopur, home to the Ranthambore National Park, also called the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. With an area of 400 sq. kms the Ranthambore National Park, the former hunting ground of the Maharaja of Jaipur, is now one of India's leading nature reserves. Designated as a National Park in 1982, the reserve attracts wildlife enthusiasts and tourists from all over the world. In the recent years, it has become India's favorite tourist destination in Rajasthan. The area is marked with a blend of rivers and lakes and the magnificent Ranthambore Fort, atop a hill. Shanks, Stints, Wagtails and Pipits, etc. are the other migratory birds
