Itinerary:
Glance through the travel itinerary of the palace on wheels and get
ready to relish the lavish lifestyle of the kings. The journey is for
eight days and seven nights. Departure from Mumbai on Wednesday 1530 hrs
evening from April to September.

Detailed Itinerary
Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus : Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus is
the Railway Station from where your journey begins. Your Royal Journey
begins in the later half of the day. The Great Indian Royale express
leaves at 15 : 30 sharp in the evening but you are suppose to be at the
station about two hours before the departure. Your journey will begin
with a entire evening to explore the beautiful Indian Royale Express. Be
there in the Bar or pock a book in the library or have a coffee in the
Restaurant of the Royal Wheels.
Daulatabad : You will arive at the Daulatabad Railway Station at
the early hours of 6 : 00 a.m. After a refreshing tea and snacks, get
down for a tour to Daulatabad Fort and Ellora Caves in Aurangabad.
Aurangabad is near to Daulatabad and can be reached by road. Ellora
Caves are the Buddhist Caves which were carved out in the mid of 350 AD
to 700 AD. In total there are 34 Ellora Caves which are buddhist caves
which not only depict various forms of Buddhists but also include the
carvings of Hindu Gods like Lord Shiva, Parvati, Durga and some animals.
After a late lunch in the evening return back to the Coach for the
Train. The Train departs from here at 1600 hrs. The dinner will be
served overboard. The morning shall see you at Jalgaon.
Jalgaon : Again you reach Jalgaon at early morning hours of
06:00 a.m. After breakfast on board, leave for the further journey to
Ajanta Caves through Air Conditioned Coach. Ajanta Caves, the World
Heritage Site are one of the finest forms of Rock Cut Architecture in
India. Constructed in the 3rd Century these are considered to be the
Buddhist Masterpieces. Here you will find the beautiful images of Buddha
lying in famous forms. Some of the are very famous like the Sleeping
Buddha and the Meditating Buddha. Lunch will be on board. While having
lunch proceed for the next destination - Katni. Meanwhile you can enjoy
the Ayurvedic Spa on board to relax your tired muscles. Dinner with
exotic dishes will be served on board.
Katni : You will reach Katni, a Sub - District in Madhya Pradesh
at 6 : 00 a.m. After an early breakfast, start your journey for
Bandhavgardh National Park. It takes two hours to reach the National
Park by coach. ( The Coach used will be Non - Air Conditioned). An early
breakfast at the National Park. After this a tour in the Badhavgarh
Village where you will be shown how village arts like pottery making,
weaving , hat making are done. A demo of the village cooking style will
also be shown. This will be followed by lunch. At 14 30 hrs your will be
taken for a Jungle Safari. The Jeep Safari will for the next two hours.
In the evening get back to the waiting coaches, from where you will be
taken back to Katni Railway Station. The evening refreshments and dinner
will be on board. Take a deep sleep in your coach.
Agra : The first sunlight will wake you up in the land of Taj
Mahal - one of the seven wonders of the world. After refreshing tea and
subsequent breakfast on board, get ready to be in the Air - Conditioned
Coach which awaits you. The first destination is Fatehpur Sikri.
Fatehpur Sikri is a five Storey Palace. Once the Capital of India in of
the Mughal Empire in the Akbars reign from 1571 to 1585. It was later on
abandoned due to lack of water and thus Agra became the capital. A World
Heriatge Sites, it is here the Nine Jewels of Akbar including Birbal
were born. Lunch will be at a luxury hotel. After noon, be prepared the
wonder of wonders - The Taj Mahal. Made in the memory of his beloved
wife Noorjahan, Shah Jahan had the hands chopped off of the makers of
the this wonder, so that no such thing could ever be made, again. The
next destination is the Agra Fort from where you will be taken back to
the Royal train for a stumpuous dinner feast on board.
Jaipur : At 6:15 am you will reach Gandhinagar Railway Station
of Jaipur City. Jaipur also called the Pink City of Rajasthan is one of
the most beautiful cities of India. A land of Palaces and Royal
Mansions, its one of the best cities to move in. After breakfast on
board, be ready for a ride up hill to the Amber Fort on the back of
Elephant. See the
Royal ambiance of the Palace in its fountains, carvings, Suraj Pol and
the Royal Kings and Queens Room. The lunch will be at one of the best
known hotels of the Jaipur City. After savouring the exotic delicacies
of Rajasthan, get on the coach to see the
City Palace
and the Jantar Mantar. City Palace is the most beautiful Palace of
Jaipur and Jantar Mantar is the ages old observatory made by Sawai Madho
Singh Maharajh to see the changes in the Galaxy. At 17 : 30 hrs get back
on the coach to proceed to the Railway Station for the Grand Royale
Express Train. The train Shall proceed towards Udaipur City with Dinner
onbaord. You can have the dinner of your own choice which includes
India, Continental and Chinese Food.
Udaipur : You will reach Udaipur quite early in the morning at
05:30 a.m. After breakfast onboard get ready for a sightseeing of the
city which includes seeing the Royal ages havelis of Rajasthan out of
which some are even 100 years old! By 12 : 00 return back to the Royale
Express to proceed towards Railway Station. Overnight onboard.
The dinner will be served on board. You will reach Mumbai at 08: 00
a.m.
