Itinerary:
Glance through the travel itinerary of the palace on wheels and get
ready to relish the lavish life-style of the kings. The journey is for
eight days and seven nights. Departure from Delhi on Wednesday evening
from September to April.

Detailed Itinerary
Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station : This is the place from where
your journey begins. A warm welcomes awaits you as you reach the
station. A warm night with delicious Indian Delicacies prepares you for
the next day at Jaipur. Reporting time 1600 hrs and departure time 18:
30 hrs.
Jaipur Pink City : The beautiful Pink City is the first stop.
The first planned city was draped in Pink colour to honour the coming of
Prince Of England by Maharajah Sawai Jai Singh 11. You will arrive at
the Pink City at around 03: 30 hrs. The Air Conditioned Coach will take
you the most famous places of Pink City - The
Hawa Mahal.
This Wind Palace sparkling with Semi - Octagonal Sandstone Windows is a
awe to see. From here you will be taken to the Amber Fort where Elephant
Ride still remains one of the main attractions. Lunch at Five Star Hotel
from where you will be taken to the City Palace Museum and the Jaipurs
Observatory. You can shop at the Palace Market outside the City Palace
Museum. From here back to the Railway Station watching the city lights.
It will be 19:30 hrs till you reach the Palace on Wheels.
Jaisalmer : The place of Royal Havelis and the Thar Desert,
Jaisalmer was founded by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 A.D. The yellow Sandstone
Fort is a charm to see. You will also get to see some of the most
beautiful Havelis/ Mansions of Jaisalmer. Nathmalji-ki-haveli,
Patwon-ki-haveli and Salim Singh-ki-haveli are some of the famous
Havelis of Jaisalmer which stand tall to this date with their grand
facades. In the local market you can shop for pattu shawls, mirror and
embroided articles, wooden boxes, trinklets, silver jewellery and other
such items. The lunch will be on board after which you will be taken for
a camel safari in the sand dunes of the Jaisalmer Desert. The evening
tea shall be from the Trains Chef while the dinner will be at a Five
Star Hotel. There will also be a Cultural Programme at the same hotel
filled with Rajasthani Dance and Fire programme. The train shall depart
at 23: 45 hrs.
Jodhpur : After a peaceful and comfortable night sleep in your
coach room, wake up to fresh tea/ coffee. You will reach Jodhpur at an
early hour of 7: 00 am. A warm welcome descends you to the Walled City
of Red stone called Jodhpur. In this second largest City of Rajasthan,
see the largest Fort of India called the
Mehrangardh Fort. Inside the
Fort see the beautiful Palaces - Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal,
Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana. Just next to the Fort is the Jawant Thada,
a group of Royal Cenopaths made of white marble. After a rift in the
local market where you can buy the embroided silk, dyed colored indian
saris, mojaris or jootis, silverware, miniature paintings; hop on the
coach which takes you back to the Palace on Wheels. Enjoy the lunch on
board as the royal carnage leaves at sharp 15:30 hrs.
Sawai Madhopur : Enjoy the life of running Palace till you reach
Sawai Madhopur. It will be 4 o clock in the morning next day when you
will reach Madhopur. After a delicious breakfast, be ready to see the
Wildlife Of India as you will to be taken to Ranthambore National Park.
Covering an area of 392sq. kms its a home to 300 species of birds and
numerous tigers. Spend the entire day here watching the Jackals, Hyenas,
Tigers, Birds. In the evening after a refreshing tree at the Wildlife
Cottage, get on the coach which will take you to the local markets of
Ranthambore. Here you can buy the local Indian Artificial Jewellery and
Costumes. The train departs from here at 10:30 p.m.
Chittaurgarh : Indian Palaces and the stories of Valour. Here is
one place which is filled with such stories - love, hate, distrust,
harmony, bravery, honour, piousness. Watch out a generation passing by
as you these vivid images in the form of paintings and sculptures in the
Royal Fort of Chittoragarh. You will reach Chittoragarh at 16:00 hrs and
leave 5: 30 a.m. the next day.
Udaipur : You will reach Udaipur at 7: 30 a.m. One of the most
beautiful cities of Rajasthan. Surrounded by lakes from all sides, the
city of Udaipur was founded by Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar, after the
Sisodia Dynasty was driven away by Mughals in 1559 A.D. Stay here in the
most beautiful Palace, the Jag Niwas ( Lake Palace and see the Jag
Mandir which looks as if coming out of the blue waters of the Lake
Pichola. After lunch at the Five Star Hotel you will be taken for a
visit to the City Palace. Leave the city at 17: 30 hrs.
Bharatpur : Be ready to see the world famous
KeliadKeoladeoo
Ghana National Park, home to thousands of migratory birds. Keep
your binoculors ready for Egrets, Siberian Cranes, migratory water fowl
. Spend your day here birdwatching as you see the Birds . With the lunch
at the Sanctuarys Cottages and tea too, you can spend a relaxed day
here. The dinner will be served on board.
Agra : This last destination of yours on board will take you one
of the Seven Wonders of the World - The Tal Mahal. Built by Emperor Shah
Jahan in the memory of his beloved Queen Noorjahan/ Mumtaz Mahal is a
marvel to see. From here you will be taken to the Agra Fort. Departure
will be at 21:00 hrs.
The dinner will be on board. The morning sunlight shall see you on your
way back to Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station. Breakfast will be served
on board. You will reach Delhi at 4 : 00 p.m.
