Itinerary:
Glance through the travel itinerary of The Golden Chariot Train and get
ready to relish the lavish life-style of the kings. The journey is for
eight days and seven nights. Departure from Bangalore every
Monday

Detailed Itinerary
Bangalore : You need to check in Blue Ginger Taj Westend Hotel
(or any other hotel as instructed) by 12:00 in the afternoon. After the
formalities, lunch will be served at the Blue Ginger Hotel. From the
hotel you will be taken for sight seeing to Vidhana Soudha, Lal Bag
Garden, St. Marks Cathedral. After this you will be taken to the local
market for shopping. Bangalore market is famous for its gold
jewelry, kanjivarum
sarees and books. You can shop for these. At 1800 hrs leave for
Yeshwantpur Railway Station. Board the train after a warm welcome by
trains staff. At 1930 hrs the Bar of the Golden Chariot opens and
subsequently dinner will be served.
Mysore : The land of Tipu Sultan, Mysore is famous for the Tipus
Sultans Palace. After breakfast on board which includes platter of your
choice, you will be taken to Srirangapatna and Daria Daulat Fort by air
conditioned coach. Lunch will be at one of the best hotels of Mysore
City. After lunch sight seeing of Chamundi Hills by coach. In the
evening refresh yourself with tea and snacks at Rangyanka Kala Mandir.
There will also be a Cultural Programme near the temple. In the evening,
get back on the coach to reach the Railway Station. Reach Golden Chariot
Heritage Train at 20:00 hrs. At 20:15 the bar opens. Dinner will be
served in the restaurant.
Kabini : By 07 : 30 a.m. sharp in the morning you will reach
Kabini. After the breakfast on board, get on the coach for sight-seeing
of Kabini. In the middle of the sight-seeing tour, tea and snacks will
be served. Lunch will be served in the Kabini National Park Restaurant.
After lunch a wildlife movie will be shown where you will get to know
more about the Indian Wildlife. After this either you can take a short
break or can take a nature walk with the guide. At 16:30 hrs you will be
taken for a Jungle Jeep Safari in the National Park. See here some of
the endangered wildlife species. By 1900 hrs get back on the coach to
reach the Golden Chariot. The Bar shall open at 21:00 hrs and the dinner
will be served by 21:30 hrs. The night is for you to rest in your
comfortable coach. By morning you will reach Hassan, your next
destination.
Hassan : After breakfast at 07: 30 a.m. on board, get on the
coach for sight-seeing. From Hassan Railway Station you will be taken to
Halebid. Once the Capital of Karnataka, today its tells the story of its
ruin by the way of its magnificent Temple Architecture. The twin temples
of Lord Shiva here are built on a single platform. From here you will be
taken further to Belur by coach. Belur is the epicentre of Hoysala
Architecture. The Chennakeshava Temple here took 103 years to get
completed. After the sight-seeing at Belur, you will be taken back to
Golden Chariot for lunch on board. After the lunch get back on the coach
to see Shravanbelagola.Shravanbeagola is famous for its colossal
monolithic statue of Gommateshwara . The idol chiselled out of a single
rock piece stands at an astonishing 58 feet from the ground level. From
here you will be driven back to the train by coach. The dinner will be
served on board. The overnight journey shall take you to Hospet.
Hospet : You will reach Hospet by 06 : 00 a.m. sharp. The
breakfast will be served on board. After breakfast you will be taken to
Hampi for sight-seeing. Hampi, once the Kingdom of Holasyas, is still an
attraction for its visitors. With the beautiful architecture and
designs, it is one of the most beautiful cities which can be found.
Considered the UNESCO World Heritage Site, even the semi ruins of the
city speak for the Royal era. Here you will see some of the most famous
spots like Mustard Seed Ganesha Idol, Virupaksha Temple, Krishna Bazar,
Queens Bath and the fort. From here you will be taken back to Golden
Chariot where lunch will be served. After lunch get back on coach to be
taken back to Hampi. On reaching Hampi you will be seeing the Hazma
Temple, Lotus Fort and the Elephant Stable of Hampi City. Tea break will
be a part of sight-seeing. In the evening at around 1745 hrs there will
be a Cultural Programme at the Temple. After this the coach will bring
you back to Golden Chariot for further travelling. The Dinner will be
served on board.
Gadag (Aihole) : The train will arrive at Gadag/ Aihole at 08:00
a..m. sharp. The breakfast will be served before reaching Aihole on
board. After reaching you will be driven to Badami Court for tea/coffee.
From here you will be driven to main city of Aihole where you will be
taken for sight-seeing. From here a short drive to Pattadakal.
Sight-seeing at Pattadakal. Patadakal is known also known as the place
of Coronation of early rulers from all over the world. Pattadakal is
also known as Kisuvolal or the Red Town because of the abundance of Red
Stone in the town. After sight-seeing, back to hotel Badami Court for
Lunch. In the evening at 15:30 the coach will take to Badami Caves. The
Badami Caves are in Badami which was once the Capital of Chaulakyas. It
has four cave temples which are hewn out of sandstone. The most popular
of its cave is the one having the statue of Lord Shiva in 81 different
poses. From here you will be back to the Hotel for evening snacks,
further journey from here will take you to the Golden Chariot. The
Dinner will be served on board.
Goa : The morning sunlight will see you at Vasco Railway Station
which is in Goa. The breakfast will be served on board in the early
morning hours of 07:30 a.m. The coach waiting outside will take you to
Candolim Beach for sun bathing and relaxation at the beach. Lunch will
be in one of five star hotels of Goa. After lunch and a little
relaxation, get on the coach for sight seeing of the Old
Goa Churches and
Museum. At 17:45 drive to Solas De Colacos. From here visit a old
Portuguese House where you can have tea/Coffee. Drive back as you pass
through Panjim City. At 20:00 hrs board the Golden Chariot. The dinner
will be served on board. for Bangalore.
The overnight journey will see you at Bangalore city. At 07:30 a.m.,
breakfast will be served on board. By 12 : 00 in the afternoon you will
back in the Bangalore town.
